I once had 2 Minis, sold one, crashed one. But still I've got a few sets of wheels (13' whatever, 12'alloys, 6x10 wellers) and a camshaft (286°) left over. If you need something for your Min just ask!

Quote from hyntty :Mrs. butz will use it for school runs.

Kind of :-)

Nah, this is my most affordable dream car and I'm using it at every occasion, even family trips are no problem at all. Big boot for luggage and pram, comfy seats and a nice suspension make it a super cool youngtimer style grand tourer!

And imagine you were 8 (yes, many of us still are!) and you could tell your friends your daddy is going to pick you up in his Porsche :-)

My new toy: 924S from the good old 80s (86 to be exact), 150hp, almost travelled to the moon (milewise), still runs perfectly, clear coat is missing on some bodyparts, some small dents. However, the zinc coat is still intact, so no rust to be seen anywhere.
And apart from the cassette radio from 93 and wheels which were sold 3 years after the car had been built it is absolutely original

Have you thought about what class you want to compete in?
I don't know if it's the same in Britain, but here in the entry classes you are not allowed expensive tuning, e.g. engine stuff, wider track, special shocks and so on. One of the cheapest championships in germany is to get an old golf II gt, a 1 day license and there you go. boring to watch but I guess very scary to race!

Aaw, that's not so nice!

Why didn't you build this thing the logical way? The cage now makes the inside almost inaccessible for someone who wants to weld something, the pipe insulation around it could catch fire while welding the holes.

Why did you use the standard dials and surrounding if you have to smear 20 kilos of putty around it to make it look at least half decent? A simple aluminium sheet folded a few times would have been cheaper, easier to fix and looked better.

I would have cleaned, welded and fixed all the stuff, painted (inside and out), then I'd have placed all the stuff in the car.

But hey, just being constructive in criticism, the car has to fit you, not me!

Quote from hyntty :That thing runs on petrol??!!

Haha, not yet :-) Nah, the petrol was for one of my recently bought products (see below) . Yes, I've posted my new old car in other threads as well, but I can't stop, I'm too proud of it!

Oh man, you'd have needed a german who teaches you losers to drink properly! And maybe some swedes to bring the good spirits :-)

At the moment I've got a great wife, a sweet baby and a Porsche standing in my garage, but I'm so jealous of the fun you've had!

If I can manage to save some money for next year I would be glad to be invited once again, and I might just get some bottles of interesting stuff, screw ryanair, bring troy or laudi or eisbär or whoever else lives on the way in a lhd porsche to funny wales!

thanks, it's actually a 924s, lacks the fat cheeks but inside it's a proper 944, engine- and suspensionwise. 150hp are well balanced , 2,5l engine means nice torque and putting ricey things on it would be blasphemy :-)

Alright, bought my personal classic today.

Was quite cheap, not much rust underneath, pulls nicely, 350 000kms on the clock :-) . Still, I've got a fat book of service history, every penny spent on thet car since 1986 is in there. Clutch, some bearings, belts and everything else vital has been thoroughly checked and replaced.
The only thing it needs will be some clear coat and fresh wax before winter.

yee.

Quote from Klutch :Theres nothing wrong with arguing about differing opinions, Politics, Religion, Drugs, they can all be good fun to discuss.

The problem on this forum, is that insults are opinions.

One of the problems of every forum are self-important people who know nothing but "expressing themselves" by talking about their vast egos and of how great they are compared to the measely rest of the users. Go to facebook or twatter or icanscreamloudersoIammoreimportant and quit messing up every thread with your life story for once!

You are one of the least interesting persons I've ever read.

which slot car brand would you prefer?

Hej ladies,

As some of you may know I am involved in some plastic track racing. We've got around 45 metres of track in an old supermarket where we race analogue and digital slotcars in 1/24th and 32nd scale.

My favourite are 1/24 Group 4/5/C cars from the 80s, I mainly build them out of plastic kits and put some f***in expensive metal chassis under them.

My friends however would like to have some inspiration concerning 1/32 plastic bombers with magnets and stuff, so they set up a poll.

Maybe you guys could help us a little by just voting for one of the brands you would prefer, left side middle of the page.

thanks a lot!

huuuuge bump.

I've got the same problem. every 200 years we're setting up a normal car with inclinometers ,just gas and brake and one for the wheel movement. No buttons or anything else.
Is it possible to have something like an automatic shift into 1st at green?
And yes, it IS unrealistic, but if you've got 99,9% of none-simracers in the car they don't care anyway.

thanks an greetz
